Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun is going to leave Anfield.

Benayoun is expected to join Chelsea next season.

Liverpool and Chelsea agreed on a 7-million-pound transfer that is likely to be announced before the start of the World Cup.

Roman Abramovich also wants to sign the Spanish star Fernando Torres.

Israel is qualifyingto the World Cup 2010 Tournament !!!

This Saturday, Israel's BEST chance at qualifying for the World Cup.

During the last round of qualifying, Israel did not lose a single match, earning road points against Ireland, Switzerland, and France, but unable to earn home victories against the same teams.

A home victory against one of the those three would have sent Israel to the last World Cup.

Israel is playing good footbol right now, most recently beating Euro '08 participant Russia earlier this month in a qualifier for the same tournament.

Israel knows the opponents for the FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa in 2010.

The team is placed in Group 2.

It'a opponents:Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Moldova, Switzerland.

Switzerland right-back Philipp Degen, 25, will make the move to Merseyside on a free transfer from German outfit Borussia Dortmund on July 1 when his current contract expires.

Having played in the Champions League, Uefa Cup and expected to feature for his country at Euro 2008, there’s no doubt Degen has plenty of experience. It remains to be seen, however, whether he will be a first-team regular for Liverpool or just necessary cover for Alvaro Arbeloa.

Yossi Benayoun claimed his first hat-trick in Liverpool with an 8-0 demolition of Besiktas, their biggest European win in 27 years.

A trio of poacher's finishes from the Israeli midfielder was complemented by doubles for both Peter Crouch and substitute Ryan Babel and skipper Steven Gerrard also got on the scoresheet as Liverpool ran amok.

The win was also the biggest winning margin in a Champions League game.

Liverpool lost to Portsmouth - What a shame !!!

In a penalty shoot-out on Friday , Liverpool lost to Portsmouth 4-2.

It was at the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.

After ending the match without scoring, the match immediately went to penalty kicks .

The satrs that had recently were signed , Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun missed the shots , and portsmouth won the game.
