Dirty Handball Goal by France !!

French footballer Thierry Henry has admitted handling a ball before a crucial goal that sent his team to the World Cup at the expense of Ireland.

The goal drew the tournament qualifier in Saint Denis, outside Paris, 1-1.

Before the goal, Ireland had been leading 1-0 and the match was level on aggregate.

But in the first period of extra time, Henry twice handled the ball - stopping it going out of play, then controlling it - to set up his teammate William Gallas.

After the match, Barcelona striker Henry said Swedish referee Martin Hansson was the main culprit for not spotting the infringement.

The player said: "I will be honest, it was a handball. But I'm not the ref. I played it. The ref allowed it."

Former England International John Barnes looks back on his wonder goal against Brazil in 1984 ...

It was at 10 June 1984 when Barnes scored one of the most breathtaking individual goals ever seen, when he outpaced and out-thought several Brazilian defenders before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting the ball into an empty net.

The goal brought him worldwide fame .

Philipp from Bavaria

Even though Phillipp Lahm is a good player, he is young and has not ever played for a team that attracts attention quite the same way as Arsenal do.

It´s difficult to compare when you don´t hear Phillip Lahm´s name on a daily basis where, even now at Barcelona, it is difficult if you expose yourself to football news to avoid some mention of Henry from time to time.

Hakan Sukur - Turkish Delight !!

Hakan Şükür is the highest goalscorer (51 goals) of all times in Turkey national team.

he also scored what is still the fastest goal ever in a World Cup finals match.

Mansız forced a Korean defender into a blunder immediately off the opening kickoff, Şükür pounced on the free ball and put the ball into the Korean net after only 10.8 seconds.
